The wait is on. We are at St. Anne's right now and my mom went back for surgery at about 10:00. She was supposed to go back at about 8:30 but the doc was running a little late and he had a 15 minute procedure to do before my mom. So she went back about 10:00 for the surgery.
The doctor said that she would be back there for at least 5 hours, and that it is a very tedious surgery. The plan is to take the flap from her back area, but if the skin is too damaged from the radiation then he will have to take the flap from the belly area and he want to avoid that if at all possible.
So it is about 11 now so 1 hour down and about 4 to go, so we just keep waiting and waiting and waiting.
